Happy New Year!
The first semester finals were a time of great achievement for our students. They worked hard on their tests, final papers, and projects. Many of them completed presentations in front of their peers and were able to showcase their talents in front of their class.
This second semester is about to begin. In general, student's courses stay the same from the first to the second semester. There will be changes and all students will receive a schedule from their first period teacher tomorrow (1/4/22).

COVID-19 Updates
Students who are not symptomatic may remain in in-person learning as long as they are symptomatic. They must wear a mask for 10 days after their last date of exposure. They should self-monitor and parent-monitor for symptoms of COVID. They should isolate and get tested if they start to experience symptoms associated with COVID.
TCS has COVID tests for its families.
Below is the press release from Ohio Department of Health as well as a flow chart for what to do if exposed to COVID or experiencing symptoms.
It is the family's responsibility to monitor students' symptoms and inform the school. If in doubt about your students' health, please keep them at home and call the school.
School Closing Info
We will inform families in the following ways:
- TV: NBC4, 10tv, and Fox28
- Voicemail
- Robocall and text
On these days, busses will not run and nobody will be at the school.
Should there be a day when we cannot have school do to conditions at the building (water main break, no heat, etc.), we will notify families in the methods above but busses may still run and there will be staff at the building.
We have a number of calamity days built into the schedule. However, it may become necessary to utilize some days as virtual learning days. We will do our best to give families time to prepare for these days. During virtual learning days students are expected to participate in all of their courses on-line from 7:45 - 2:30PM and attendance will be taken.
If your family needs wifi or technology assistance, please call the front office and we will work on a solution with you.
Updated Academic Calendar
The most immediate change is Monday, December 6th. This is a day when we will not have school at TCS. ODU and Columbus State calendars remain unchanged.
Please see the new academic calendar below. We will mail out new calendars with our next mailing which should be the semester grades the second week of January. Should you need a copy sooner than that, we will have them in the office.
Bus Contact Info
We expect that Columbus City Schools will update the routes during the first two weeks of school. We will do our best to help students and families navigate any routing changes.
If your student is waiting to be picked up in the morning, and their bus does not come, call
614-365-5074
If the route is not covered, CCS will attempt to get your student to school still.
