A Note From Mrs. Fragomeni
Families,
Thank you for your support and participating during our recent parent-teacher conferences. Conferences provide such an invaluable opportunity for collaboration and dialogue between school and home. The strong family support at home is another example of why Burton is such a special community!
Many thanks to the Burton community attending the Glow Show on Thursday evening. Thank you Mrs. Jakuc for a beautiful evening showcasing the Burton Artists. This year the theme Glow Show featured all Michigan inspired pieces. Students used materials such as chalk pastels, oil pastels, construction paper, and colored pencils. The Burton students created:
-TK: Heidelberg Project Houses and Spring Birds
-1st Grade: Great Horned Owls
-2nd Grade: Fireflies
-3rd Grade: Jack-O-Lantern Mushrooms
-4th Grade: Grant Haffner Inspired Abstract Landscapes/Road Trip
-5th Grade: Andy Warhol Inspired Faygo Cans
Just a reminder, next week is the final week of March is Reading Month! Thank you for the support in joining the community read aloud and supporting your reader at home.
Go Blue Jays!

Glow Show
Dear Burton Families,
Thank you all for attending our fabulous Glow in the Dark Art Show last night. It was truly rewarding for me that so many of our children, parents, siblings, and even grandparents attended the event! I had so much fun watching our proud artists share their artwork with your families. I wanted to thank the following staff and parents who helped me make this night successful. I could not have done anything with their help!
Mrs. Fragomeni, Mrs. Feiler, Mrs. Wallbillich, Mrs. Teggart, Mrs. Sanderson, Mrs. Zemaitis, Mr. Roberto, and Mr. Thomas

Public Safety Update
New Signage
Just a reminder from the February 6th post in the Blue Jay Journal of the new HW Public Safety signage exiting the Rec Center parking lot and at the NE corner of Hart and Scotia. The goal is to decrease the traffic flow heading south on Scotia during school hours. Please be mindful of this traffic change as it may now impact other areas, especially Talbot and Scotia. We do have 5th grade safeties present at the corners, but slowing down when turning and driving with extra caution helps keep our Blue Jays safe.
If you have any questions or more information regarding traffic, please contact Lieutenant Spencer - bspencer@hwmi.org.
