REMINDER: Submit Your Feedback on School Schedule Proposals
A study committee formed to consider alternatives to the current schedule has discussed several proposals and narrowed those down to two (shown in the table below). Please note that the times on these proposals are not set and are subject to change.
CCSD will continue to accept feedback on the proposals from the community through Sunday, April 30, before a final decision is made in time for implementation at the start of next school year.
Please submit your comments to feedback@clarke.k12.ga.us.

Whit Davis Teacher Named Winner in Disney Contest
Ms. Biddle has spent her entire 20-year teaching career with CCSD and has been a Gifted Program teacher at Whit Davis for the past 13 years. She was selected as a contest winner after submitting an essay about a project she did with her third-grade students a few years ago. She said the project was completely student-led and encouraged students to use their imagination and engineering skills to research, plan, and build a spaceship for an animal of their choice. Students spent time researching animals that had been to space and wondered how NASA could send other animals to space. They took off with their ideas and ended up building spaceships out of cardboard, Ms. Biddle said.
"When learning is student-led, it is amazing where it can take them," she said. "Students learn more when they are curious and engaged. I feel so honored to be rewarded for something I love doing so much!"

REMINDER: Share Your Input on CCSD Strategic Plan!
There is still time to share your perspective to help CCSD develop a new five-year strategic plan!
There are two surveys — one specifically for students and the other for families, staff, and community members — in order for everyone to share their thoughts. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Click here to access the student survey and here to access the family, staff, and community member survey, or scan the QR codes below. The surveys will remain open through Friday, May 5.
High School Immunization Reminder
This is a reminder that if your student, in grades 9-12, is not up to date with their immunizations, they could be at risk of withdrawal from CCSD. This includes any student who is at least 16 years old and missing their meningitis immunization. Please note that all students need one additional vaccine after they turn 16 years old.
Your student may not be able to attend classes if all immunizations are not brought up to date by Monday, May 8.
If your student is currently not up-to-date with all required immunizations, please have them updated and provide proof of updated immunizations to your school nurse. Click here for a list of required vaccinations.
Please contact your primary care provider, the Clarke County Health Department at 706-389-6921, or the Hilsman Health Center at 706-546-7463 to make an appointment for your student's needed immunizations.
