From the Desk of Mr. Ohlemacher
This is a week which exemplifies much of what is Genoa Area Local Schools. It is great to be a Comet!
Yesterday afternoon I opened a letter from the North Point Educational Service Center informing us that Joey Dominique was the recipient of the prestigious Franklin B. Walter Award. This is an incredible academic accomplishment which recognizes the efforts of Joey, his family and all of the teachers Joey has received instruction from during his career as a Comet.
The weekend is a busy one for both our music department and athletic department.
This evening our choir competes at Perrysburg and tomorrow our band will be traveling to Sylvania for competition. Also in action Saturday will be our boys' basketball team as they face Cardinal Stritch for the district championship at Toledo Central Catholic High School and our wrestling team continues its march in Columbus for a repeat as the OHSAA Individual Wrestling State Champions.
You may say we have straight A's: Academics + Arts + Athletics
(Regardless of which area of excellence you prefer, we are blessed with Amazing students & an Amazing staff).
As always,
Go Comets!
