Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
I hope that you have had a great week! I have enjoyed the brisk/cold weather and the feel of winter in the air. Please remember that all district sites will be closed tomorrow in observance of Veterans Day.
National School Psychology Week
This week, schools throughout the country celebrated National School Psychology Awareness Week. School psychologists, counselors and social workers are an integral part of our community. I thank our amazing JUHSD Wellness Department for all they do to ensure that our students and staff thrive!
American Public Education Week
Next week (November 13-19), we celebrate American Public Education Week, by thanking all who work in our district to provide a high quality education for our students. I am immensely proud of our schools and our staff.
For ideas on how you can honor those working at the school in which your student attends, along with additional information on all three of these nationally recognized days, click on the images below.
Please have a restful three-day weekend and know that my door is always open.
Warmly,
Toni Presta
Superintendent

Antigen Testing During Thanksgiving Break
Next week, all District students and staff will receive two take-home rapid antigen COVID tests. During the Thanksgiving Break, the District encourages everyone to take these tests on Sunday, November 27 or Monday, November 28 prior to returning to campus, and again on Wednesday, November 30, during that first week back.
If students or staff test positive, they are asked to fill out this form and follow the current guidance found here. For additional COVID-related information, please visit the District’s COVID Response Page.
Something to note: Many have asked if they can use FDA-authorized at-home COVID diagnostic tests that have expired. Though the FDA does not recommend using these tests beyond their authorized expiration dates, diagnostic tests may be extended as additional stability data is collected. You can check the Expiration Date column of the List of Authorized At-Home OTC COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests to see if your at-home OTC COVID-19 test has been extended and how to find any new expiration date.
District Shirt For Sale
Many staff members, districtwide, have asked about the new black tee shirt being worn by District Office employees. As a fundraiser for their DO Sunshine Committee, these shirts were sold in early September. If you would like to purchase one, please click HERE.
Please contact Austin Worden, District Director of Communication and Staff Housing with any questions you may have.
