Friday Family Message
Hello Families
We remain thankful to our community for supporting our replacement levy that helps us deliver the educational experience our students deserve.
We now turn our attention to the Legislature in Olympia as they are currently debating the level of state funding for schools.
Schools remain hopeful the Legislature will ultimately provide the level of funding districts like us need to continue to offer the current levels of service. We — along with education organizations across the state — are in contact with our representatives, officials, and leaders in Olympia to warn about the impact funding reductions would have on students.
We understand these are challenging times, and we appreciate your continued support for our schools to ensure that our students receive the quality education they deserve.
Thank you for being a part of our Stanwood-Camano community.
Help us fight fentanyl
Please join us for an important community safety forum.
Fentanyl Awareness Night will teach students, families, and the community what you need to know about this danger that’s now laced into most street drugs.
This synthetic opioid is being pressed into fake pills — and it’s 50x more potent than heroin. A lethal dose can be only 2 milligrams.
Local criminals are marketing these pills to our children.
Join us at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Stanwood High School to hear from local, state, and federal experts about how to protect yourself and your family. This free community forum is open to everyone.

Honoring staff
Congratulations to our January Employees of the Month!
Cedarhome Elementary School teacher Renee Barrie was awarded the Certificated Employee of the Month. She was nominated by a parent who wrote that Mrs. Barrie has made a welcoming, safe environment in her classroom. “I got to sit in on a morning visit and to see him so happy in there made my heart so full,” the parent wrote. Congrats!
Bus driver Neil Goehri was honored as the Classified Employee of the Month. He was nominated by a parent for working so well with students on the bus. “He is funny and supportive but still keeps everyone in line. He’s an exemplary example for the students,” the parent wrote. Congratulations!
