Message from Principal Hood
Hi Rattlers!
Welcome to September!
We are so excited that we have been able to be back together for the past four and half weeks with students to celebrate growth and to challenge each other with goals for this school year. As we dive deeper into routine with our new school year, my hope is that you and your family feel confident and valued as members of our Paseo Hills family. We strive to build, maintain and improve relationships with students, staff and our community.
Please make sure to keep your email address and phone number up - to - date in PowerSchool in order to receive communications such as my Weekly Parent Update that is sent out every Sunday at 4:30 PM. This weekly communication includes important information about safety, upcoming events, word of the week, mottos that will help keep us on track for continuous improvement.
Thank you all for your continued support, focus on safety and dedication to your student's academic and social emotional improvements.
These first four weeks have presented challenges due to COVID and I am proud of the focus we continue to share for student growth in academics and behaviors. Did you know that wearing a mask may exempt your student from being quarantined if identified as a close contact? If someone tests positive for COVID - 19 and is wearing a mask, close contacts identified who are also masked are exempt from the 10-day quarantine as long as they do not present symptoms. For more information about guidelines and DVUSD Safety Plan click HERE.
Paseo Hills Rattler Community is REMARKABLE and I am so fortunate to watch our students learn and grow together with you!
Proudly,
Principal Hood

Low - Threshold Illness Information and Expectations
We all must work together to make our school campus as safe as possible for students, teachers, and staff. While the Deer Valley Unified School District is taking measures to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, we need our families to do the same.
You and your child are expected to follow the COVID-19 Code of Conduct that is provided on DVUSD website HERE.
We are asking that you err on the side of caution and keep your child home when showing any possible symptoms of illness. If your student is sent to school and shows any signs or symptoms of illness, per district low-threshold illness policy, they will be sent home. Also, if you are testing your student for COVID, your student is required to stay home while waiting for test results.
If your student is absent from school, please call our school attendance line directly at 623.445.4590.
If you have specific illness questions, please reach out directly to Nurse Brian at 623-445-4510.
Office Reminders
Please make sure to have an ID with you if you report to the office to pick - up a student. All parents will be required to show ID to office staff when signing out a student for any reason.
At this time, office staff is not able to accept deliveries for students unless they are essential such as glasses, water bottle, medicine.
