Note from the Principal:
Dear Staff,
Rest up today. I'll keep this one brief... We will have plenty of time to talk over the next two days.
Please take a look at the information below; it will be helpful as we approach Wednesday and Thursday.
As we get focused and motivated for the journey ahead, I want to share a short video today and tomorrow. They are both very short, but will give some things to think about as we set the tone for another incredible year! You may have seen this one, but even if you have it is one of my favorites... I've watched it at least 10 times!
CLICK HERE for video 1 (10 minutes long, but awesome)... video 2 coming tomorrow.
Have a great day. This year will be special because every one of us has something important to contribute. We will make it awesome together!
Sincerely,
Chris

Key Information:
- SPECIALS Days 1 & 2 - Day 1: We will do what we did last year - the specialists will oversee an activity and/or free play with support from non-classroom teachers CLICK HERE for schedules (Please note - this is a one day only schedule). This will give a needed movement break for the kids and an opportunity for teachers to prep a little bit. We will have normal specials day 2 Friday (like last year, 4th and 5th can report to the gym and break into specials groups and I can talk them through the process and procedures).
- Bear Tavern T-Shirts - Student shirts are in and being separated! They will receive them Thursday and wear them Friday. PTO has been working on staff shirts. They should be available for purchase (online) next week or shortly there after. They came out great! We can dress nice for the first day, then wear any BT gear you have for Friday or simply Blue and White. Staff shirts won't be delivered for a few weeks.
- POSTER BOARD FOR DAY 1- We have black poster board for homeroom teachers in grades 1-5 to make large signs with their names on them for students to find their places on the blacktop. The poster board is located in the main office. Have fun!
- Blacktop Day 1 - We will be adjusting 2 things this year. We will be having Kindergarten families go directly to the Kindergarten cluster to drop off K students (I'll be reaching out to a few non-classroom staff to support this). We will also be sharing information w families about our first ever 'Clap IN.' Elaborating on our traditional 'clap out' in June, once opening remarks are done, we'll invite parents to the fence by the trailers to celebrate as the students walk in one of the two entrances on the 'outdoor hallway.' CLICK HERE for letter.
