Chrome Books!!!!
We are excited to announce the FWISD 1:1 device initiative for ALL PK-5th grade students (virtual and in-person) is underway! Chromebooks will be delivered next week.
Virtual learners who do not already have a Chromebook assigned to them will able to check out their device on February 12th by selecting a time slot using the link below. Please note the process for picking up the device(s) will take about 20-30 minutes. When picking up your virtual learner’s device, you will need to bring the student(s), their username and password so we can ensure learners can log into their classes appropriately.
In-person learners who do not already have a device will receive theirs beginning Feb.17th. Students will log into their devices while they are at school. Parents will need to come to campus to complete the proper checkout forms before devices can be taken home. In-person learners will have the opportunity to take the devices to and from school.
Thank you for your patience and support as we are moving towards 1:1 devices for all of our wonderful students!
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you,

Mid-Year Parent Conferences: February 8th-19th
Parent Conferences begin this week. Teachers will be scheduling parent conferences with EVERY parent between February 8-19 to go over your child's Mid-Year Reading and Math scores, their progress in the first semester and set their goals for the remainder of the year. Please be prepared to sign up for a conference time and meet with your child's teacher via zoom. It is extremely important that we work as a team to give our students the best possible educational opportunities. If you have not yet been invited to a parent conference, please call the main office at 817-814-7400.
Parents who attend the Mid-Year Conference will earn a FREE DRESS CODE PASS for their child and will be entered into a drawing for an awesome FAMILY GIFT BASKET.
Valentine's Day Celebrations
Valentine Cards and pre-packaged candy treats were due to school by today to allow for quarantine time prior to the celebration on February 12th. Please understand that cards and treats sent to school after today may need to be sanitized or quarantined until after February 12th for student safety.
February is Black History Month
Thank You!!
4th Grade Writing Benchmark
Fourth grade parents,
On Tuesday, February 9th, fourth graders will be taking a district writing benchmark. It is imperative all in-person and virtual students are not absent. Virtual students will have an opportunity to test online or come to the campus and test in a room separate from the others. In-person students that have been issued a device from the district will need to bring them on Monday. They will stay on campus for testing on Tuesday. Virtual students that have devices and are testing on campus must bring their devices for testing. Please do not send any personal devices.
Parents with virtual students, please contact your child’s teacher or myself by noon Monday, February 8th to let us know how your child will be taking the test (online or on campus) as I need to prepare for testing.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you for your help with district testing!
Leticia Cronenberg, Campus Test Coordinator
What's so great about PATHBLAZER?
As you know, one of the Reading and Math programs FWISD has adopted is Pathblazer. This program takes your child's MAP scores and adjusts to specifically target your child's individual academic needs at his/her own level. That makes Pathblazer an excellent intervention for students who may be behind grade level AND an awesome enrichment program for students who are excelling beyond their current grade level.
Pathblazer Information:
- Students should be completing a minimum of 1 hour (Reading) and 1 hour (Math) each week for a total of 2hrs minimum per week. The good news is, this can be completed at school and at home if students are spending about 20 minutes per day on each program.
- Beginning next week, your child should daily have their yellow Pathblazer form for you and their teacher to initial when your child spends at least 20 minutes working on Pathblazer Reading, Pathblazer Math, and MyOn/AR.
- Acknowledgement and prizes are being earned for Pathblazer usage and the number of activities successfully completed.
- Pathblazer can be accessed by clicking on the APP in your child's classlink. You can also view your child's reports and activity scores in the APP.
