This Week's Giving Tuesday : A Catalyst for funding Local Donors Choose Projects
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
On Giving Tuesday this week many teachers in Florence 1 Schools had their Donors Choose proposals funded including Bethany Luhman, (High Schoolers Making Amazing Art.* $600); Elizabeth Collins, (Hydro- Electric Thinking, *$400) Annie Hinson (Equity for All, *$300).
"These small amounts go a long way in helping teachers to provide learning opportunities for our students, and during this season of generosity, it is a perfect time to make the public aware of the need to assist local educators," said Jackie Shuler, Assistant Principal at South Florence High School.
Persons interested in learning more about how they can contribute to local educational needs should go to donorschoose.org where they can find specific information by zip code, by school and by teachers.
