Principal's Pen
Happy Monday! We are already starting our fifth week in school and it will be our first five-day week. The students seem to be settling nicely into the daily routines in their own classrooms. By now you should have had contact from each of your children's teachers through their Friday folder and weekly updates, so you have some idea of how things are going. Our teachers make a great effort to keep you informed. Please do the same for them by contacting them when you have a concern. Schoolspeak is the platform we use for all of our school communications - both from the office and from each of the classrooms. Here we post all announcements, volunteer sign-ups, and updated student grades. You can also use it to email anyone on the staff. If you are unable to access your SchoolSpeak account, please email me or Mrs. Steinbrecher in the office. We will send you your username and password and are happy to help you navigate the site.
Each Wednesday and Friday we attend Mass at Saint Mary and Saint Joseph Parish. On Fridays, one class prepares the Mass and the students in that class read the readings and serve. This week the 7th grade class will be preparing the Mass. The class that prepares the Mass also has the opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation following Mass. Thank you to our pastors who take the time to stay after Mass and hear confessions!
Our Caught Being a Christian Award this week goes to Sophia Richardson, one of our 7th grade students. Sophia immediately volunteered to help another student who had spilled milk during lunchtime. She was practicing the virtue of kindness. Great job, Sophia!
God bless,
Angela Oller
