Lansing Elementary Weekly Update
Newsletter for the Lansing Elementary School Family
March 2, 2024
Dear Families,
We had a busy week! On Monday we had half our kindergarten students attend their field trip, on Thursday we had our Late Start and Friday we had our PRIDE Assemblies over the character trait of "Diligence", or working hard and doing it well. Thank you to all the families who joined us for our PRIDE Assemblies.
This week, we have the rest of our kindergarten students attending their field trip on Monday. On Tuesday we have practice for our 1st grade musicals. Black, Leitsch, Pennington & Schimke will practice at the middle school from 8:45-10:45 and Jones, Banker, Lovejoy & Shepard will practice at the middle school from 12:30-2:30. Our performances will be at 6:30 for Black, Leitsch, Pennington & Schimke. Students should arrive by 6:20. Our performances will be at 7:30 for Jones, Banker, Lovejoy, and Shepard. Students in these classes should arrive by 7:20. We also have late start on Thursday and our Inclusive Playground Committee Meeting Thursday after school at 4:00 in the library. All are welcome to attend! On Friday, our first grade has their Mad Science field trip coming to LES.
We have received 287 Family Engagement Survey responses so far. Thank you for completing our survey! We use the results of this survey to determine how we are interacting with our community and in which areas we can improve. The winning class at each grade level by % of respondents will receive a prize. Please use this link to access our Family Engagement Survey and enter your student(s) for a prize: https://forms.gle/a54vjJ8A1WD7MtUy9
We are looking for parents and guardians interested in filling Parent-Teacher Association Roles for the 24-25 school year. All board positions will be open at the end of this year - President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. If we cannot fill these roles, we will not have a PTA next year. This means the current school support programs that PTA provides will not be maintained - field trip t-shirts, free family events like the Back to School Bash and Winter Festival, Teacher Grants, Book Fairs, Yearbook, Field Day, Staff Appreciation, PRIDE Wall of Fame Photos, Friday Folders, Agendas, and more! Training is available for all roles; no experience is necessary. Please contact LansingPTA.K5@gmail.com for more information
