Priorities
"Action Expresses Priorities!"
-Gandhi
I came across this quote over the weekend and found it thought provoking. There comes a time during the reflection process when you simply have to ask yourself, "What are my priorities?" This quote states to me that it is not about what we say, but what we do that truly pinpoint our priorities. So my question this week is, If someone was looking from the outside, what would they say is your number one priority on campus? We all know what it should be....(student learning and success) but is that what you spend a great deal of your actions supporting?
Just something for all of us to think about and have the courage to change our individual actions if needed.
Have a great week KHS!

Announcements and Celebrations
Announcements
1. This week is Pink Out! As a school district, we support and celebrate the goals of breast cancer awareness. We also have survivors on our campus that are the pillar of strength and courage. This Friday, lets wear pink!
2. On Wednesday, we will have PSAT testing on campus. There will be over 800 students testing so flexibility is needed.
3. We will have a PEP rally on Friday but it is also a 1/2 day. Ms. Dockray will send out a schedule well before Friday. The PEP rally will start at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. Coach Price will be recognized during the PEP rally with the Chevy Spotlight Award!
4. Our next campus meeting will be on Monday, October 19, 2015 immediately after school. Please make arrangements for your personal responsibilities. The meeting will last 1 hour.
5. On October 20, 2015, we will have instructional rounds on campus. There will be a series of meetings for those involved throughout the week. The entire campus will receive a brief but clear understanding of the process at our campus meeting.
6. Keep the classroom, SMART lunch, and after school interventions going. Although we are past the six week mark, we are headed to report card time. Let us all work together to keep students on track.
7. As APs are completing their sweep of discipline for student no shows, ISS will be full. Please be sure to support Coach Nunez and Ms. Reece by sending assignments in a timely manner. This certainly helps with the management of student behavior.
8. Mark your calendars for October 30, 2015. This will be our first staff outing from 4:00 p,m. - 7:00 p.m. Ms. Arredondo will send details this week. Hope to see you there!
