March $1 Jean Days
We are having 2 - $1 Jeans Days in March! For $1 or more, students and staff may be out of dress code both days. Please follow the "Dress Reward Days/$1 Jean Days" in our dress code posted on our website.
- Our first $1 Jean Day is on March 7th - Donations will go to JobOne KC. Please read the following:
My name is Katy Garrison and I am an alumni of LaSalle. Currently I am a junior at William Jewell College where I play volleyball and am studying Non-Profit Leadership with the hopes of one day running my own. Last summer I had an internship with JobOne KC. It is a non-profit organization out of Kansas City, Missouri that provides opportunities to those with disabilities. I was the job coach of five individuals and assisted them to learn valuable work and life skills through their first experiences in the workplace.
Being a student at Lasalle and Xavier has instilled a passion of service and giving of myself to those in need. I was taught to be a Servant of God and I intend to be that with my future career. Thank you to Mr. Davidson for donating this month’s $1 Dress Day to this wonderful organization. Thank you and God Bless!
- Our second $1 Jean Day is on March 22nd. Donations will go to the Sisters of St. Francis Water Project. This is World Water Day. Our 5th graders have been learning about the Sisters of St. Francis Sister Water Project.
The Sisters of St. Francis, with support from their associates, launched the Sister Water Project in 2006 to bring safe water to villages in Tanzania and Honduras. Months were spent studying, discussing and praying about global water issues to fulfill the sisters mission statement of “living in right relationship with all of creation.
To raise awareness of global water issues and raise funds for the Sisters of St. Francis’ Sister Water Project (SWP), our 5th grade students will have a short walk on this day. They invite you to bring donations for the Sister Water Project on March 22nd - 100% Of donations to the Sister Water Project go toward materials, transport, and labor for water systems in Honduras or Tanzania. Thank you for your support!

Updated Covid-19 Isolation Recommendations
Iowa Health and Human Services has provided an update on the guidance for COVID-19 isolation recommendations. This can be found on the document included below, but can be summarized by saying that COVID-19 is now treated as any other respiratory illness. The recommendation for those with respiratory symptoms is to be excluded from school and child care settings until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of a fever reducing medication AND respiratory symptoms are mild and improving.

Feedback About Christmas Concert Please
We are discerning wether it is preferable to offer both Christmas concerts in one evening, or if we ought to change it to a two-evening affair (with pk-4 on on night and 5-8 on the next). Please click on the survey here to let us know what you prefer. Thank you for your input!
Registration is Now Open!
PowerSchool registration is now available!
PowerSchool Registration is now available for all Xavier Catholic Schools families. You are welcome and encouraged to start this process at this time; however, the date of family registration with Xavier Catholic Schools will determine enrollment priority if the student is at the same priority level as other prospective students in the event of high demand for placement in a specific grade level. Additionally, the time of receiving registration materials will be used in situations where capacity limits enrollment; this process is used when priority levels are not in effect.
For enrollment to be considered complete, all Power School Enrollment Express forms must be submitted and/or accepted (yellow and green leaves will indicate these statuses). The deadline to complete the registration process is March 29, 2024 for priority enrollment. After March 29, 2024, all registration materials are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
A final deadline will be in June, at which point communication will be shared with families closer to this deadline. The updated Xavier Catholic Schools admissions and enrollment policy can be found below.
Any questions should be directed to the individuals listed below:
· PowerSchool Registration: Nancy Franey: nfraney@lasallecatholiccr.org & Kathy Ireland: kireland@lasallecatholiccr.org
· Admissions Priorities: Zach Zeckser: zzeckser@lasallecatholiccr.org & Heather Williams: hwilliams@lasallecatholiccr.org

A Note from the Nurse
We continue to have kids out sick. We have students that have influenza A and B, strep throat and respiratory and stomach viruses. Please remember that our policy is: the student needs to be fever free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Advil prior to coming back to school. We continue to have students coming back too early.
Thank you,
Nurse Shawn
