Dear Cameron Parents and Caregivers,
This year we are introducing safety training lessons and drills for staff and students. These trainings were created in partnership and collaboration between the Departments of Health and Wellness and Department of Safety and Security, with valuable input from the Department of Special Education.
This week, Cameron students and staff will be participating in a lockdown drill.
We wanted to share with you some information regarding the drill for your knowledge and for if you would like to talk to your child about it.
On the day of the drill the following will happen:
The principal will tell students during morning announcements that there will be a practice lockdown drill
When it is time for the drill the principal will say over loudspeaker…
“We are going to practice our lockdown now. Teachers know what to do. All students need to listen to their teachers during this practice”
During drill teachers follow the lockdown procedure as outlined in the lockdown lesson
Once the drill is done, the principal will get back on the loudspeaker and tell students and staff that the drill is over and thank them for participating in the drill.
Cameron students have been given the lockdown lesson previously. This and all safety lessons were created to be developmentally appropriate and trauma informed using resources from Safe and Sound Schools. Our focus is to ensure that students understand safety procedures, know that adults are there to help them, but not to have in depth conversations about potential emergencies.
Important information for Grade 8 Students and Families
Dear Parents/Guardians of Grade 8 students,
We are writing to let you know about a program that will be available to students who will be attending Framingham High School. The program begins at the start of the second semester of 9th grade. Students need to apply to be considered for this program.
There is an information session for eighth grade families that will be taking place at BRACE, 560

Parking and U Turns
I have reached out to the Framingham Police Department to ask them to monitor Michael Road and Elm Street during arrival and dismissal. They will be monitoring to ensure people don't make a u turn on Elm Street and that cars are only parked on the even side of Michael Road. Thank you for your attention to this. It is important we all follow these rules so we keep our Cameron students safe.
Badges
VERY IMPORTANT! All FPS middle and high school students are required to wear their badge each day. Students are being asked to take their badge off at the end of the day and put it in their bag so they can put it on when they get to school the next day. Grade 6 students have been given new yellow lanyards and grade 7 has been given green lanyards. The 8th grade will continue to wear their blue lanyards.
Please reinforce this with your children.
