A copy of the Strategic Plan framework may be found here.
Safety and Security Procedures
As a part of our ongoing commitment to student and school safety, Golf District 67 engaged in a security and safety audit with security experts including our Morton Grove Police and Fire Departments. The result was a revised Emergency and Crisis Response Plan. In addition, the audit highlighted some areas of improvement and recommendations to keep our whole community safe.
They are:
All GMS students will be required to wear ID badges on lanyards at all times
All D67 staff will be required to wear ID badges on lanyards at all times
All classroom doors will be locked at all times
All visitors will be required to wear ID badges on lanyards at all times
All visitors, including parents will:
Enter through the front door /main entrance of each building.
Sign into the school visitors log
Provide Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport to building secretary to be run through our Raptor Security system.
Receive an ID sticker and insert into plastic sleeve on yellow visitor badge
Turn in their License/State ID/Passport to the secretaries
Be escorted by staff to their destination
Return visitor badge in exchange for their License/State ID/Passport
SIgn out on the visitor’s log
All visitors must observe all laws, school policies, procedures, and rules while visiting the school. We understand that change is hard and we appreciate you following these rules in order to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Please be respectful of our staff and come prepared with the necessary ID needed to enter the buildings. Any individual who is aggressive, volatile or threatening in any way will be denied entrance into our buildings.
COVID Protocols and Updates
We will continue to monitor the safety recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All local health departments are following the recommendations of the CDC
The following mitigations will be in place:
- We will continue to remain a mask-choice district. Those individuals that feel more comfortable wearing a mask are free to do so.
- Continued emphasis on cleaning and disinfecting protocols, as well as hand hygiene,
- Continued maximization of the ventilation system which draws from outside air.
- Communicate positive cases of COVID to parents and staff.
- Individuals who are sick or develop symptoms should remain home.
Symptomatic individuals will be given the rapid test in the nurse’s office to determine their COVID status. According to the CDC, anyone with a positive COVID test will need to be isolated for 5 days from the onset of symptoms. Upon returning, individuals should wear a mask for the next 5 days. Symptomatic individuals will be tested using a rapid test in the nurse’s office.
For the health and safety of our community, please notify your child’s school health office if your child or a member of your household has symptoms or is diagnosed with COVID. When you call school to report your child’s absence, report any of the above symptoms.
Golf 67 will send a notification home to parents if an individual in their grade level has tested positive for COVID. Please continue to monitor your student’s health for signs and symptoms of COVID.
SHIELD Testing
We are continuing to offer free COVID testing to all interested students. SHIELD Illinois is a testing program that deploys the University of Illinois’ innovative PCR COVID SHIELD saliva test across the state. This test is not a nose swab. The test has an FDA authorization (Emergency Use Authorization) for asymptomatic & symptomatic individuals.
