Meet the facilitator
Bee Orsini experienced homelessness for 12 months and was able to get back on her feet thanks to support from The Salvation Army. Bee is now the Salvos Schools Coordinator and has presented alongside the Dalai Lama, Cate Blanchett, Sir Richard Branson and at TEDx. She was recognised in the Top 100 Women of Influence awards in 2012, was NSW Young Australian of the Year finalist in 2014 and is a Youth Homelessness Matters Day Ambassador.
Youth Homelessness - Introduction
Break down myths and stereotypes by exploring real facts and experiencing real stories of homelessness shared at your School. Students will develop a broader understanding of one of the most vulnerable groups in our community and how homelessness can affect anyone.
Youth Homelessness - Take Action
Learn about the current National response and the key areas of need when responding to homelessness in Australia. You will be given tools, ideas and the latest volunteering and campaign information needed to take action against homelessness in your local and global community.
Social Justice Principles
How are social justice issues identified? Is social justice more than a list of causes we support? How does social justice impact our everyday life and well-being? This workshop will explore social justice principles such as social inclusion and advocating for the oppressed.
