BES Bulletin
Friday, July 29, 2022
Dear BES families,
I hope you have been enjoying the summer and had lots of time to have fun, relax, and be with family and friends. It was nice to be able to take off some time, too, this summer. The highlight for my family was a trip to Seattle, Victoria, Canada, and Olympic National Park. In the park, we were able to hike through many different terrains to see beautiful landscapes including mountains, waterfalls, the ocean, and even a rainforest.
I am pleased to announce and introduce Bartlett Elementary's new assistant principal, Natasha Giraldo. Ms. Giraldo (Her-ALL-doe) comes to us with lots of great skills and experience and will be an asset to our school community.
The Bartlett Elementary School staff and I are excited about beginning another great year of learning at Bartlett Elementary. We can't wait to welcome back students for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer, and we'll see you soon!
Sincerely,
John Signatur, Principal

New Assistant Principal, Natasha Giraldo
My name is Natasha Giraldo, and I am very excited to be joining the staff of Bartlett Elementary this year as your new Assistant Principal. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. The new school year will be the beginning of my 24th year in education, private and public, as well as in Illinois and Florida. This past summer I was fortunate enough to work as an assistant principal for the Summer Connections program which gave me a chance to build relationships, work with students, and provide staff with strategies to help all students find some success while having a lot of fun. Prior to this past summer, I completed my ninth year within the U46 district as a 6th grade general education teacher at Ronald D. O’Neal Elementary, having begun my U46 career at Garfield Elementary as a 5th grade general education, and having been fortunate enough to be a part of the dual language program as a 5th, and then 6th, grade team teacher.
Throughout my career, I have enjoyed building relationships with students, families, and staff, as well as creating welcoming environments with a positive climate and culture. And I possess a strong desire to ensure that all students receive a quality, rigorous, and equitable education.
On a more personal note, I am from the Chicagoland area having grown up in Schaumburg and Roselle. My partner, Carrie, and I have one daughter who is about to begin 1st grade in Palatine. We have one older “statesman” as we like to call our dog (a maltipoo) . In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, traveling, baking, exercising, binge watching on our streaming services, playing board games with the family, and cleaning.
As we begin to move into this new school year, I’m hoping to meet and get to know not just the students and staff, but all the families and the Bartlett community. I’m looking forward to getting to know what you believe are the best things about Bartlett Elementary, what your goals are for your students and the school, as well as how I can best support the students, families, and community of Bartlett, as your assistant principal. I am so excited to begin working and supporting students during the upcoming school year.
