- Tell your child that you and the teacher are meeting to help her/him.
- Make a list of topics that you want to talk about with the teacher.
- Prepare a list of questions such as:
- 1. What are my child's strongest and weakest subjects?
2. Does my child hand homework in on time?
3. Does my child participate in class?
4. Does my child seem happy at school?
5. What can I do at home to help

Any art work created by Irving art classes can be shown in Open Class at the Cowley County Fair. You do not have to be a 4-Her to show in Open Class. If any student is interested in 4-H be sure and ask one of these Irving students all about it. They would be glad to tell you how exciting 4-H is!
Opportunities to Learn About the Job of Teaching
One of the many benefits of being a teacher is to be able to mentor young adults who are studying to become a teacher. Students from Winfield High School's HOSA program and students from Southwestern College's education department come to Irving to assist in the classroom, observe teaching, and learn about lesson planning. This role as a mentor to future teachers is one our staff is proud to be a part of.
