Cellphone use in schools survey
In Alberta, and in many other places across the world, student cellphone use is increasing. Cellphones have the potential to be powerful teaching aids that, when used appropriately, can improve learning outcomes. But there are significant risks and concerns with inappropriate cellphone usage. They can be a distraction to students in the classroom and disrupt a student’s learning and can impact student safety through bullying or harassment.
The Ministry is interested in hearing from teachers, parents, and other staff about cellphone usage in schools and using their advice to help inform any potential next steps. You are invited to share your views about the future of student cellphone use in schools. You have until May 3, 2024 to participate in an online survey about the future of cellphone use in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. The survey will take 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
Year End Field Trips
Planning has started for our year end field trips. In order to provide the best possible experience for our students, please make sure your school fees including your School Council Fee has been paid through PowerSchool.
We have roughly 190 students with outstanding fees. Fees rollover to next year and compound year after year so it is extremely important to get school fees paid as soon as possible.
