Dear Parents,
As principals of Hellstern Middle, Central Junior, and Har-Ber High schools, we are excited about welcoming you to the upcoming 2021-22 school year! Your student is in for a one-of-a-kind experience as s/he travels and transitions from one of our schools to the other. From academics and ENCORE to all extracurricular activities, our schools have a tradition of excellence established by great faculty, staff, students, and parents. We strongly commit to work together with you to ensure your student’s success in order to keep our tradition of excellence alive.
At Hellstern Middle School, we offer an array of advanced opportunities for our students such as Coding, EAST, Drama, and other electives that go beyond academics. At HMS, we are dedicated to providing personalized learning for students and creating academic opportunities to enhance career and occupational interests. Students may participate in Try-Out Week (March 15-19) to determine eligibility for Honor Choir, Band, Athletics, Coding, Select Drama, Advanced Art, EAST, and/or Stagecraft. We seek to provide students with a variety of options with the best teachers, unlike any other school experience across the state.
Central Junior High School has a place for you! We believe in engaging students in learning and life. Along with regular, advanced, and AP academic experiences, students will have opportunities to participate in robotics, debate, forensics, and Honors in addition to what has always been part of our Warrior Pride: choir, athletics, band, coding, and business education. Additionally, National Junior Honor society is an excellent opportunity for 8th grade students who desire to bolster their experiences in scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship . Our goal is to provide multiple experiences linked to student interests that will propel Central students towards success in high school, college, careers, and beyond.
Har-Ber High School is an exciting place to learn. Students have the opportunity to enroll in classes that match their interests and their goals in life. At HBHS, students enroll in one of five different Houses. Each House offers specific classes that provide students with unique learning experiences, skills, and knowledge that are connected to specific given careers. Students may take classes in the medical field, computer programming, construction and engineering, robotics, marketing, agriculture, TV production, and the arts. Students may also enroll in Advanced Placement and concurrent classes. Currently, Har-Ber has 29 AP classes and several concurrent classes. The goal of HBHS is to personalize education for all students and to help each student achieve his/her dreams in life. At Har-Ber, all students matter! The results speak for themselves. This year, HBHS had seven National Merit Semifinalists and exceeded the state average on the ACT. Whether preparing for college, vocational school, or the workforce, we prepare our students for their future goals.
The Hellstern, Central, and Har-Ber teams place personalized learning at the heart of our school. We all strive to work together (students, parents, teachers, and administrators) to foster academic rigor excellence and success, responsibility, and kindness with a welcoming culture. We are looking forward to a great 2021-2022 school year with your student. Join us as we develop your student into being a Hero, Warrior, and Wildcat for life!
Sincerely,
