High School Credit Advancement
2024 Summer Program
HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Credit Advancement Summer Program provides current High School students (9th-12th grade) with an opportunity to accelerate a High School credit through online platforms. The program is tuition-based and will be conducted via a hybrid learning environment (virtual and in-person). Credit Advancement is a supplemental program apart from the regular instructional school year. Summer CADV students should have the ability to independently navigate a rigorous online course curriculum and self-advocate when needing academic assistance.
SUMMER HYBRID LEARNING
Session 1: June 17 - June 27 (holiday: June 19)
Teacher Availability (online & at your HS campus): 8:30am - 12pm & 12:30pm - 4pm.
Session 2: July 1 - July 11 (holiday: July 4)
Teacher Availability (online & at your HS campus): 8:30am - 12pm & 12:30pm - 4pm.
Important Considerations:
- All tests must be taken & will be proctored in-person at the student's home campus high school during set times listed above. All other course material may be done virtually on your own time.
- All assignments and tests must be completed and submitted online by 3pm on the last day of the enrolled session.
- Teacher availability: Mondays - Thursdays, 8:30am - 12pm & 12:30pm - 4pm. via google meets, email, chat & at your home HS campus.
- If a student fails to complete all of the required coursework on time or fails the course, they will not earn credit. Depending on the course prerequisites, they may not be able to start Summer Session 2 (ex: Student fails or doesn’t complete Summer 1- GeomA, they cannot take Summer 2- GeomB).
- The student’s transcript will reflect the final numeric grade and will be used in computing the student’s grade point average (GPA), regardless if the numerical grade is unsatisfactory.
- Student Athletes: Summer CADV Courses might not be NCAA approved. NISD recommends that any student athlete with a potential to receive an NCAA scholarship attain their credits through a traditional course, rather than through Credit Advancement. Click HERE for more details on NCAA guidelines.
Granting credit does not imply the student has acquired all of the knowledge and skills that would have been derived from completing the course in-person in a regular classroom setting.
