What a great start to the 2020 school year. We have definitely had our challenges but I am very proud of our students and the staff here at New Hope Academy. We have enjoyed getting to know our students. Please see the below information for September.

Attendance
As a reminder, we run two sessions: morning session from 8-12 and the afternoon session from 12-4. Prompt attendance at New Hope Academy is paramount to your student’s success. As stated in the NHA Handbook, students are allotted up to five unexcused absences. After five unexcused absences, administration will review progress and see if New Hope Academy is best suited for your student’s education. Lubbock-Cooper ISD attendance policies are available online at www.lcisd.net.
Student Goals and Schedules
All NHA students have individually sat with a staff member to create the following: academic goals, personal goals, transcript review, and a class schedule. Please talk to your students about their schedules and goals. If you are not receiving Edgenuity reports and would like to begin, please contact the front office, and we will get you signed up.
National School Lunch Program
Each year you must re-apply for The National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Please take the time today to apply online. This program has more benefits than just providing nutritious, low-cost or free meals to students. Qualifying students are eligible for financial assistance for SAT fees and college application fee waivers.
The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritious, low-cost or free meals to students in Texas public schools. If you believe your child may qualify for free or reduced price school meals, please complete a school meal application to determine eligibility. You can apply online at: https://www.mealappnow.com/manlcp/splash.php
On Monday, September 14, reimbursable school meals became available to all Lubbock-Cooper ISD students at no cost. A reimbursable school meal includes at least one serving of fruits or vegetables and at least two servings of meat, grain, and/or dairy. (A standard school meal is considered reimbursable.) This opportunity will expire on Thursday, December 31.
