June 12th & 13th – 9am-3pm @ Trinity Lutheran Church in DL
- Red Pine Quilt Shop is open for a special shopping opportunity for the 4-Her’s to purchase their patterns, fabric, batting and backing.
- Staff will be on hand to assist with color selection etc.
- Youth will receive a 20% discount on their purchases.
- Members of the Quilt Guild will be there to provide professional long arm quilting services.

4-H Fair Ambassadors
In 2023 Becker County 4-H members will have a new and unique opportunity. The 4-H Fair Ambassadors will be a group of dedicated youth in grades 6-12 that are interested in leadership, communication skills, public speaking, and of course the Becker County Fair. We will start team building, ice breakers, learning some awesome "soft skills" and then put them to the test as we assist with the Becker County Fair. Our next meeting will be June 22nd at 7:00pm! Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics Training
- All youth participating as a State Fair 4-H Livestock Exhibitor (Grades 6+) in beef, dairy, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, meat and dairy goat, and llama – alpaca must have completed LQA&E Training prior to the county fair.
- Minnesota 4-H youth are required to participate in LQA&E Training in order to be eligible for participation in Minnesota 4-H State Fair shows. You can look in 4honline under “trainings” to check the status of your LQAE training.

Fair General Livestock Exhibitor Meeting Questions
The Becker County 4-H Livestock Committee is collecting questions to make the exhibitor meeting Held on the first night of the fair more helpful to the 4-H families exhibiting. We will try our best to address all of the questions.

Becker County 4-H Needs Shooting Sports Instructors!
The following steps must be completed to become a fully certified 4-H SS&W Adult Instructor. All steps in the process can be found in one registration form for each in-person training at Shooting Sports & Wildlife Leader Certification Registration
State Fair Chaperones Needed!
The Minnesota State Fair will take place Aug. 24 - Sept. 4! Local 4-H programs need Minnesota 4-H volunteers as chaperones to support and supervise their assigned delegations during the Minnesota State Fair. Chaperones have additional responsibilities when staying overnight with youth in dormitories. Chaperones must be at least 21 years of age at the time of service and have successfully completed volunteer screening. You must be accepted and enrolled as a Minnesota 4-H volunteer. Congratulations 2023 Helping Hands award recipients!
2023 State Arts-In registration now open!
This year, State Arts-In will celebrate its 50th anniversary as participants put together a very special show with lots of alumni support and appearances throughout the experience. Youth in grades 9+ can be a part of this community of young adults. They will put together a show, develop new skills, and grow in leadership, teamwork and goal setting. This event will take place on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, Aug. 10 - 17 and Aug. 22 - Sept. 4. $50 discount for registrations completed by June 30! Learn more and register.
Minnesota 4-H Photo Challenge
Minnesota 4-H Photography is excited to offer a statewide photography challenge to youth in grades K-13. In the "Up Close & Personal" 4-H photo challenge, youth are encouraged to select their best close-up photo taken during the 2022-2023 4-H year and tell the committee why it’s special to you. Submit one (1) image (with no or minimal editing) with up to two (2) sentences explaining why it’s important by 11:59 p.m. on June 5, 2023. 4-H Summer Video Production Workshop
Registration for the 4-H summer video production workshop is now open. If you love making and sharing videos, this immersive video production course is for you! This awesome workshop will increase your skills and knowledge in video production as you learn from actual Twin Cities filmmakers and professionals in the industry, and get to know other youth from across the state with similar interests. The workshop begins July 17 and includes four 1-hour virtual sessions, and an amazing 3-day in-person immersion event with state-of-the-art equipment, Aug. 8 - 10 on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. This workshop is open to youth who have completed eighth grade and up. Cost is $65; scholarships are available if needed.
4-H/FFA Crop Scouting
This is a great time of year to pull together a group of friends and form a 4-H/FFA crop scouting team. Are you interested in learning more about crops but don’t have a team? No problem, sign up and we’ll help you find a team, or you can compete as an individual. Register yourself or a team by June 20 to receive resources to prepare for the crop scouting competition. The final registration deadline is July 1. Teams registering after this time are not guaranteed resources.
