SMART Amp
Ms. McLeod- 8th Grade Math Teacher writes:
Lee County Schools has been chosen to participate in a new pilot program for SMART. This program, SMART Amp, will allow teachers to share lessons with their students, flip the classroom, allow students to collaborate in groups or whole class, allow teachers to monitor and control conversations, etc. I attended this workshop on Monday, February 16, and I already know how I want to use this in my class.
Students cannot say they did not write something, because you can tag each person in the conversation. Their initials will appear on everything they said. You can see how much or how little a student has contributed to a conversation. Students can delete or trash something, but only the teacher can empty the trash can.
SMART Amp has many features like the Smart Notebook; however, searching for images, websites and recording seems to be easier. You can do a quick warm up, mid lesson checkup, or ticket out the door, and get instant results without ever having to grade a paper. You can bookmark areas of a presentation to go back to later. You can do a safe search for YouTube videos and upload smart notebook files.
