Based on its admirable college-readiness factors, rigorous curricula, math/reading proficiency rankings, graduation rate, and other factors, Hewitt-Trussville High School has placed among U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools for 2021.
“We are very proud of the continued accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff,” Hewitt-Trussville High School Principal, Mr. Tim Salem, said. “We establish clear expectations for learning outcomes through engaging and relevant learning experiences and effective, student-centered instructional strategies.” Read more on America's Best High Schools.
Bill & Liz Roberts Scholarship Awards
Four Hewitt-Trussville High School seniors have earned a Bill and Liz Roberts Character Scholarship. Winners this year are: Hallie Bender, Sadie Logan, Alexander Jones, and James Naylor. In addition to good academic and social standings, the students had to write an essay to be considered for the Bill and Liz Roberts Character Scholarship.
The scholarship began last year. According to its criteria, it awards one male and one female $2,500.00 each. This year (and last year), a total of four students secured the scholarship money. Bill Roberts is a past Board Member and Board President of the Trussville City Board of Education.
