Erin's Law Presentations
The “Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Education” explains what sexual assault is, what to do if you or someone you know is sexually assaulted, bystander intervention, healthy relationships, and the dangers of “sexting”. It also gives students the opportunity to ask questions they may have regarding sexual assault.
The school presentations will take place January 13th through January 17th. Students will attend the presentation on one of these days during their one of their classes, in either math (5th grade) or ELA (6th - 8th grade). If you have any questions regarding the presentation, please feel free to contact one of our mental health team members (contact information below).
If you do not want your child(ren) to participate in the presentations, please email Cori Dudakiw-Warrick, social worker, at coriwarrick@bighollow.us with the subject line Erin’s Law Presentation by Sunday, January 12th.
8th Grade Parents: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Here is the agenda as follows:
6pm-6:50pm- Parents are required to bring a certified birth certificate of their freshman student for verification purposes. PLEASE note hospital certificates or copies are not accepted. Also, parents are to complete and return the Internet Access Form asn the Student Demographic Information Form. Parents will pick up another information packet that evening.
6pm-6:50pm- Teachers of Elective Courses, Activity Sponsors, and Athletic Coaches will be available to meet students and parents, to answer any questions regarding their area of interest, and to create a list of interested students for future contact.
6pm-6:50pm- Students will need to have their picture taken for their 2020-21 student ID card. This will be taking place in the west gym.
7pm-8pm- Meetings with the administration and counselors.
It is extremely important that you attend. Failure to attend will not only delay the enrollment process, but may prohibit students from receiving their courses of preference for the coming school year.
