Congratulations!!
Emily Dorman, (6th grade), Mrs. Finsterle’s homeroom spent 2 days of Spring Break volunteering alongside some of the OSS high school students. They spent the 2 days working with immigrant and refuge students doing STEAM and Humanities based projects. The workshops were a lot of fun and a great success.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we explored snakes!! We had a slithery and sneaky week learning how they move, eat and live in the wild! We used on non-fiction text skills to help us learn information about snakes. We used text snapshpots, labels, the glossary and the table of contents to research the snakes.
We also explored 2-d shapes

In reading Mrs. Beckman’s class read the Frog and Toad story “The Kite”, and learned all about adjectives. In math we had fun with our graphing extended learning activities!

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful spring break! 4th grade has been hard at work this week reviewing for our upcoming Writing FSA. Mrs. Michaud’s class jumped back into learning this week. In Reading, they reviewed the basic elements of poetry by reading a poem from World War I. In Math, they discussed how to multiply decimals. In Science, they discussed how weathering and erosion affect the Earth’s surface, as well as natural resources. In Social Studies, they discussed the population boom Florida experienced in the early 20th century.
Mr. Press’s class modeled the moon’s phases with Oreos!
4th Grade will be taking the Writing FSA next Tuesday! Please make sure your child is well rested, eats a good breakfast, and arrives to school on time. We are very proud of our students and are confident that they will do an amazing job on this exam!
