HORIZON ELEMENTARY
Home of the Red-Tailed Hawks
September 2022
Dear Horizon families,
We have a fantastic flock of Hawks this year! They have been working really hard learning their new grade level procedures and expectations. I am pleased with how welcoming and kind our students are to our new students.
Our teachers have also been working really hard to get the year started right. I am also proud of all of them for their care and love that they put into everything they are doing for our students.
We will send a newsletter out at the beginning of each month. Be sure to check it out monthly.
I want to highlight that school pictures are Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Our first SCO meeting is also this Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 6pm in the Horizon LGI. All families are welcome. Enter door 2 and take a right. Our SCO also has daycare available for you, if needed.
Our Hootie Hustle is Friday, Oct. 7. Families are invited to attend. More details to come.
We are celebrating Hispanic/Latinx Heritage from September 15 through October 15. We will incorporate learning resources of this heritage into our school day.
Our school clubs will begin the week of Oct. 10. I will send a separate email listing what the clubs are and when they are. We are currently still working on what clubs we will be hosting this year. Watch for that email.
Happy September to you all.

Art room wish list
To the Horizon Community,
Many of you are always reaching out wanting to help or asking how you can help. One way is through donations. I have compiled a list of donation items that the Horizon art room could benefit from. These items do not need to be new and include:
*Any old t-shirts (don’t throw them out… we’ll take them for weaving on hula hoops!)
*Hula hoops (for weaving)
*Play Doh
*Yarn
*Fabric
*Ribbon
*Neon Art Materials (paint, oil pastels, yarn, etc.)
*Rubber Bands
*Sharpies
*Wooden Paint Sticks
*Clear Bins (only if you are getting rid of them… no need to purchase new)
THANK YOU!!!
