Knightly Update July 18, 2021
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 2
Let the fun begin!
It's time!! Time to welcome the Knight community to our new campus and I cannot wait! The teachers, support staff and I are so excited to open the doors of our new school to all of our new and returning students this week. It is going to be a great year, and I am ready to get started.
To kick things off, the Class of 2022 has planned a morning assembly for the first day of school (July 21st). This assembly will be held at our football stadium as our gym is not quite ready for us to occupy. While the assembly will take place at the start of the day, students are encouraged to bring water, hats, or sunglasses with them to the assembly. It will be a fun start to the year.
With a new school comes new logistics, and everything from lunch assignments to vehicle traffic flow must be evaluated and put into place. While we have considered much while putting together the various campus procedures, we will quickly learn which work and which need to be refined as the year begins and progresses. Regardless, all procedures are developed with student safety at the forefront of all decisions made. One such process is student drop off, pick up and parking. The logistics for entering and exiting the campus are included in today's update. Please pay particular attention to how families should enter the campus in the morning and afternoon. Note that all families must enter the property from Brooks Farm Rd. and not the traffic signal by our stadium. If you have any questions about the traffic procedures that will be implemented, please contact the office. I want to assure everyone can safely enter and exit our campus as efficiently as possible.
We have a special gift for all our Knights when they arrive to school on Wednesday. To distribute these gifts, all students should plan on entering campus via the northwest courtyard entrance. Members of the Class of 2022 along with security and faculty will guide students to this location so nobody misses out on getting their beginning of the year gift. A special thank you to our Boosters for their assistance with this year's gift.
Your child's teachers reported on Wednesday and have been attending meetings, working in their classrooms, and getting ready for our students. The excitement they convey about the new year is palpable. We have an awesome faculty and staff, and they are looking forward to working with everyone throughout the year. It is such an exciting time for the ACP school community, and I am so glad you are joining us on this adventure. My office is always open, so if there is any question I can answer, or if I can help in any way, please contact me. I look forward to seeing our students on Wednesday morning. Let's get ready for a great year! Go, KNIGHTS!!

Class of 2022 Senior Pictures
Congratulations, Class of 2022!
The first step of your senior journey is to have your portrait taken for the yearbook. The yearbook’s deadline for senior pictures is September 4th, 2021. In order to meet this deadline, we have partnered with Lou Coopey Photography in Mesa, AZ to take your yearbook photos.
There are two options: one is free, the other is $40.00. Please read through this message completely for details and choose the option that works best for you. If you have questions, please e-mail Mrs. Patterson, patterson.kristin@cusd80.com.
OPTION 1 ($40.00 deposit, $50.00 credit to account)
Schedule an appointment with Lou Coopey to have your portrait taken at their Mesa studio located at 202 N Lindsay Rd, Mesa, AZ 85213 before the September 4th deadline.
Key Information about Option 1:
$40 deposit will be collected at the time of scheduling.
- This deposit, along with a $10 credit ($50.00 total) will be applied to each account to purchase portraits and services offered by Lou Coopey.
- Return your proof book within 30 days and receive a refund of your $40.00 deposit.
- After 30 days, the $10 complimentary credit will expire.
- The $40 remains on account and can be used for any senior portrait purchase.
To ensure the safety of all seniors the following protocols are in place for the photo session:
- All procedures will be as contact-free as possible.
- The studio will be limiting the number of appointments per day to allow for social distancing.
- Face masks and hand sanitizer are recommended, but no required.
- It is recommended that Seniors bring their own clothing. However, if necessary, the studio will provide loaner jackets, ties, and drapes as needed.
- The loaner cap and gown are sanitized on site in commercial dryers between appointments per CDC sanitation requirements.
- All studio services beyond the sitting (scheduling, ordering pictures, and paying fees) will be conducted online.
- Senior sessions will include 9-14 poses on a variety of backgrounds including Cap & Gown photos for graduation.
- All post-sitting contact will be done online (choosing the yearbook pose, ordering photos, and any additional payment.)
- Students must be dressed to impress (collared shirt, tie, dress, and/or professional blouse) for their senior portrait.

ACPHS General Boosters
Welcome to the ACP High School General Boosters! We are a group of parents who assist ACP High School with such things as student back to school gifts, staff appreciation, including quarterly lunches and birthday gifts, graduation, new student events, administration special needs and special events. We support the entire school!
Our current board includes Kathi Greer, President, Adriane Keene, Vice President, Anne Paton, Treasurer, and Tracie Padilla, Secretary. We are always looking for parent volunteers to help us with our events. If you would like to be on our list, please send your name, email and cell number to acphsgeneralboosters@gmail.com. We would love to have your help!
We do not do any fundraising throughout the year, so to assist us with our events we collect a booster fee of $50 per student, or $80 per family (two or more students from the same family). These fees can be paid via CLICK HERE.
We look forward to meeting all of you! We will be at the school during the tours on July 19th and 20th and will have the following items available for sale (cash, credit cards and checks accepted):
- A limited supply of new PE apparel (additional orders can be placed through the bookstore starting July 21st). Shirts are $10 each, shorts are $10 each. The ACPHS PE uniform is required of any student taking a general PE class or weightlifting (exceptions are yoga and athletic locker; instructors will provide guidelines for those courses). These uniforms are not acceptable as Friday dress.
- Gently used PE uniforms, school polos in cotton and dry fit, plus some miscellaneous ACP attire. A $5 donation per item to the boosters is requested.
You will also have the opportunity to pay your booster fees during this time. Please stop by and see us!
We are currently accepting donations of gently used PE uniforms, Polo shirts and approved Friday shirts. Please drop off donations in the front office.
We look forward to your continued support of ACP High School! Please contact us at acphsgeneralboosters@gmail.com with any questions.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
