Panther Pause
23 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
5.1.20
Panthers,
As we turn the calendar to May, it is important to reflect upon what has been one of the toughest months in recent memory. We have learned how to adapt and change our work and way of thinking. We have learned flexibility and how to support one another from afar. And we grieve the loss of one of our Panther family. As you may know, we lost Ms. Kongevick, one of our Assistant Principals, on Tuesday afternoon. This loss has challenged me to hold dear what truly matters the most. I can tell you that I have hugged my family a little extra tight the past few days, and value what they add to my life on a daily basis. I would encourage you to do the same and ensure that you cherish what matters the most to you on a daily basis. Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!

APRIL PARENT VOLUNTEER HOURS
If you did any volunteering for your favorite CHHS program, please submit your volunteer hours for April 2020 and encourage other volunteers to do the same. PTSA collects the number of volunteer hours, so that GCISD can use them for applying for grants and other uses. This is only parent hours, not student's Community Scholar hours (see CSAP program guidelines on the Counseling website about that). Submit your hours in 2 minutes at this link: Volunteer hours
COMMUNITY SERVICE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM (“CSAP”)
THE DEADLINE FOR FRESHMAN THROUGH JUNIOR CLASSES TO SUBMIT SERVICE HOURS FOR 2019-20 WILL BE THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL IN THE FALL.
CSAP is coordinated on behalf of CHHS by the Volunteer Community Service Ambassador Committee with support from the CHHS Counseling Office. The program is designed to encourage all 9th-12th grade CHHS students to serve their community by performing at least 100 hours of approved community service. Students meeting this requirement will be recognized as Community Service Ambassadors upon graduation, and will be eligible to
purchase a special cord for their graduation robes. Full program guidelines for Community Service Ambassador Program, and service hour logs can be found on the CSAP Website.
Make sure to turn your COMPLETED and SIGNED Student Log Form in to the Counseling Office. Students who have served 100+ approved hours are listed on a spreadsheet that can be found in the CHHS Counseling Google Classroom for each specific class.
Students can find the list by searching "Volunteer" or by clicking the "Volunteer";on the left-hand side of the home page. This document does not contain total hours. Contact Christina Howard in the Counseling Office if you need your total number of approved hours. Totals are updated at the end of each month.
Each Class now has a specific email address to which their inquiries regarding CSAP should be sent. This email will be monitored by the Committee Member assigned to serve as liaison for the Class.

School Report Card
You will find a copy of the State of Texas 2018–19 School Report Card for Colleyville Heritage High School. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.
The information contained in the School Report Card is required by state law and is briefly described in the enclosed “2018–19 School Report Card Definitions.” The report for our school may or may not have all the information described because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.
State law requires that the School Report Card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.
The School Report Cards can be found online at https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/src/2019/campus.srch.html
A more complete report about Colleyville Heritage High School, the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), is available by contacting my office or can be accessed online at https://tea.texas.gov/Student_Testing_and_Accountability/Accountability/State_Accountability/Performance_Reporting/Texas_Academic_Performance_Reports
Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this report card. Thank you for your continued support of Colleyville Heritage High School.
Sincerely,
Lance Groppel,
Principal CHHS
