Sixer's Sunday School
Weekly Update for Parents
We are excited to be teaching your child in Sunday School this year. Each week, we will try to share a little of what is going on in our class. Hopefully you will enjoy the brief update and maybe it will be helpful as you and Sixer talk faith at home!
-Lucas and Mindy
This week we concluded our lessons about the life of Paul. The students made a human timeline...spanning all the major points in Paul's life. Reece was Paul's "birth" and poor Sydney was Paul's "death." Ask your Sixer what point in Paul's life they represented or something they learned new about the life of Paul.
You could also ask them to tell you about Paul and the viper on the island of Malta or about what Paul did to make money when he wasn't preaching and teaching about Jesus.
Each week we have a "Big Idea" we are looking for in the lesson. This week's Big Idea was: "God is with me even when I go through hard time."
Ask your Sixer if they remember what the Big Idea was this week and what it might mean to them.
Next Sunday we begin our new curriculum which will take us back to the Old Testament. Up first...the story of Elijah and Widow in 1 Kings 17.
Every 2nd Sunday (September 15 next month) is Pancake Sunday and our Sixers will be our hosts...pancake flipping and party planning!
