High School Happenings
September 2022
Welcome to the High School Newsletter for The Campus (SSAE and PPEC)
Spirit Week is September 12-16
Wednesday (9/14) - Sports Jersey Day
Friday (9/16) - Yeti Spirit Day On anything but a Backpack Day - it's just that. Carry your stuff in anything except a backpack (within reason - try not to bring something huge like a canoe or a dumpster). Be creative, and have fun. Then wear any sports jersey on Wednesday - especially your own if you're an athlete! Lastly, any Yeti attire will do on Friday! The Outstanding Outfit Award will be selected daily and immortalized in the yearbook!

History
US History students studied and created presentations about the different perspectives from the Reconstruction Era. Next, they will be learning about the brief period in the late 1800s when there were Black Members of Congress and how this has shaped various views and laws today. World History solved a CSI: Florence about who really planned the Medici brothers' demise. Now they are learning about different revolutions that occurred around the world during the late 1700s. Psychology students are working hard on their own experiments involving color and psychology. They will gather their data and compile it as a class to make claims using their evidence.

Engineering & Robotics
We are excited this year to introduce the new competitive Robotics program, where students will build and compete against other schools in a game called "Spin-Up." The program is new, and we are learning many things along the way. Still, the first generation of Disco Bots is walking around the hallways and terrorizing other classrooms as students design improvements for them. The first competition date is October 1 at Mesa Ridge High School from 8 to 2. More information will be on the way as it becomes available!
Coding is going well!
I look forward to a great school year!
Peer Tutoring Offered
Peer Tutoring will start again on Friday, September 16, and meet weekly from 10:40 to 11:55 AM.
