In Case You Missed It:
We know that SanLee is full of ROCK STARS! I am proud to announce this year's top stars! Congratulations to our SLMS Teacher of the Year, Bianca DiMarcello and Bus Driver of the Year, Monica Hawes!
I want to give a shout out to our Exploratory Team and Yanira Scott for working together to register all but seven 6th and 7th grade students for their choices in Exploratory Classes next year the week before Spring Break. Yanira will be doing the next steps in PowerSchool to see if their efforts worked correctly Yanira and I have also talked to see if PS can help us place students on teams/classes. More info will be coming in the next few weeks.
Yanira reported on Friday before we got out for break that she had completed about 1/3 of the 5,000 corrections to attendance from the PS glitch. She is working this in between keeping everything current. I will let you know as soon as it is completed. Thank you for your patience and support.
We will be having Summer Achievement Program, SAP, again at SanLee this year. It will be for reading and 8th grade science only. All SAP testing will be online. As soon as I know dates and times, I will get this to everyone.
Sara Barker resigned effective immediately on Tuesday. I know I speak for all when I say she will certainly be missed. Sara was extremely supportive for our students and staff.
Bianca DiMarcello will be moving back west this summer to be closer to family. She accepted a position in a middle school in Oregon.

How we all felt on Friday before break :)
After School Information READ CAREFULLY!! (sent in an email on 4/18)
After school teachers should stay on the hallway and receive students the day they tutor. Rosters and bus numbers can be found on the grade appropriate sheets here. Last core teachers should send after school students to the appropriate teachers BEFORE leaving the hallway. (Exploratory teachers should send 6th graders signed up on Tuesdays and Thursdays back on the hallway at 2:30)Teammates should take students to car line and buses. If you have car rider duty and also have after school tutorials, please secure coverage for your day. After buses leave, admin will bring snacks and take attendance.
I worked on Monday, April 15 to finalize buses and double check rosters. There were some students that did not make it on to the roster sheets, so I did update and assigned a teacher.
Homeroom teachers should fill out the information sheet and send home MONDAY with students staying after. *Make sure to check all rosters!
We will run 4 buses on Tuesdays, because we have the most students signed up to stay. Wednesdays we have the least amount of students and will only run two buses. Thursdays we will run three buses. Student bus numbers are on the rosters for the tutoring day. Some students will ride a different bus depending on the days he/she will attend. Tutoring teachers should remind students of bus numbers on their day. We will call students to the buses by bus numbers beginning at 3:50 pm this week to ensure they get on the correct bus. Routes are predicted to be no longer than 1 hr and 15 minutes, so all students should be home by 5:15 pm.
I will need assistance out front with car riders each day. Please make sure there is at least one teacher from each grade level helping to keep students safe.
*Students signed up for AST must stay after UNLESS they bring a note and turn it in before 1:00 pm that day. (This is the cut off for transportation changes).
