Notes and Reminders
The PTSA and Daniel Warren Annual Book Drive.
Last week to donate! Thank you!
The PTSA and Daniel Warren are hosting a “children’s used book drive”. We are collecting children's books and we invite your child(ren)to be involved in selecting books to donate from their personal libraries. Donations should consist of books your child and family have outgrown and are “sitting on the shelf waiting to be enjoyed by another child.” No adult books please. All books will be donated to the Darien Book Aid to help enrich the literary lives of less fortunate children far and near.
Books may be dropped off in the box in the entryway beginning February 26th ending March 15th.
As one of the ways students learn about service projects and supporting community, our first graders will be helping to lead this project.
Thank you for sharing your love of reading!
Women's History Month
Common Sense Media is always a great resource for Movie, TV, Video Games and Book reviews. It also has smart recommendations for all ages. Currently, you can check out what to watch, read, and listen to for amazing stories celebrating the strong women of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Spotlight on Learning
Books are being collected for the Book Drive and we're keeping track of how many! We are organizing and counting by groups of 10. So far, we've counted 850 books! Yay! to the First Graders, who are taking charge of this community project.
Books donated will go to the Darien Book Aid. We learned about this organization and how our books will go to children near and far...maybe even to other countries!
KLW using the math scales!
