A Note From Ms. Lundquist
End-of-Year Activities
Dear RRO and MACC Families,
As we prepare for the transition from this year into the 2024-25 school year, we are making many plans. Please see the letter that came home with K-4 grade students today regarding class placements for the 2024-25 school year. There is also a copy attached to this newsletter (below).
We still have a few days left of M-STEP testing, so please make sure your child comes to school on time and ready on his/her testing day. We are also in the middle of make-up testing, so it is important students are in school each and every day so we can finish these tests up.
Please join us for the PTO meeting next week on Tuesday, May 7, and help us celebrate the end of the school year! We meet in the CAT Lab at 6:00 PM.
I look forward to seeing you around school.
Best,
Sandie

Field Day will be on Friday, May 31, 2024, with a rain date on Monday, June 3. A note to sign up to volunteer will be coming home this week. I would love to have parents run the events, so please sign up and return the note to me by Friday. Make sure students have sunblock on Field Day to protect their skin. They will be outside for two (2) hours. There will be 15 stations and other equipment and games to play with during Field Day.They will also get a nice cool treat at the end.
For the rest of the year we are going to be reviewing some of the major skills I have taught throughout the year. We are playing full class games that include the skills I have taught which allows them to practice the skills in a fun way. We have played Capture the Flag and Crossover to Candyland to work on evasion and team strategy. Pinball, Jet Ball, Battleship and Boxball are all games used to practice overhand throw. We are also doing the 12 minute run to see if they can run a mile in 12 minutes. If they run 28 laps in the gym they have run a mile. Many run 30 or more laps and some even make it into the 40’s.
I continue to work on good sportsmanship and losing graciously. Some students struggle with losing during games. I remind them that it is just a game and not worth getting upset over.
