Parking & Pick Up
Recently, we have experienced another set of incidents in which drivers without disabled permits parked in reserved spots or blocked the access to those spots. As a reminder, please leave those spaces free for the drivers and passengers who have been issued parking permits to use them. You may park in any other unmarked, unreserved available spot, if you prefer. The use of those spaces is subject to legal enforcement, as is the resulting disturbance a verbal altercation creates. Please model courteous and safe driving habits on our campus.
Test Prep Resources
We would like to share a resource called Lexia Power Up that can help your child be more successful and earn a level 3 on the end-of-the-year FAST assessment. I am attaching a video and additional attachments regarding the program.
Your child can log into the program in their myPascoConnect. After the initial placement test, they should plan to spend about 20-25 minutes a day working in the program to improve their reading skills. We appreciate your support in helping your child be a more successful reader.
You can see how the program works here:
Recording-20240221_073650.webmTeacher Appreciation Week 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We've had a fantastic school year, and our teachers and amazing staff are the MVPs for making this year possible. Help us celebrate them during the week of May 6-10, 2024!
We are fortunate to have some generous business partners who have donated to help with some treats for this week, but we can use donations of snacks and drinks for Monday, May 6th--as well as some volunteers who would provide "room service" deliveries of treats for our teachers & staff. Are you able to contribute a snack, drink or staff our delivery team? We'd love any help you can offer. :)
8th Grade Dance Donations Needed
We are working to plan an 8th-grade dance to help mark the closing of the middle school chapter for our Archers. Would you consider donating some decorations and supplies?

Golf Unit - PE Class Donations
Our PE coaches are planning a golf unit for our students. If anyone has any old clubs (8, 9, or wedges, putters-right or left handed) we would gladly accept them. The plan for the unit combines classes and uses a huge driving range. Contact Coach Klein with questions or to arrange a donation.

One of the requirements for all 7th graders to attend school is to have the Tdap immunization. Please take your child to your physician or local Health Department for the necessary immunizations as soon as possible. Please return the required certificate of immunization (DOH680 form) to the school so we can document it in our records.
You can provide this documentation a couple different ways:
1) Bring a copy of the immunization record to the school for us to verify and note in our system.
2) Scan the document and send an email to (school nurse name), school nurse, at (SN email address)
Please note that students who have not provided documentation of this required immunization will not receive their class schedule during registration in August. If the required document is not received by the first day of school, your child will be excluded from school until proof of the vaccine is provided.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Failure to respond by the above date may result in your child being unable to attend the first day of school.
April is National Financial Literacy Month which is a great opportunity to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach our students how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits. To celebrate the month and encourage our students to be financially smart citizens in our communities, Pasco County Schools, in partnership with our valued community partners will offer virtual experiences and opportunities throughout the month. These events are designed to help parents/guardians, employees, community members and students with financial planning matters and getting more information for starting a financially successful future. Fun facts and resources will be featured throughout the month.
Teachers will also have the opportunity to sign up for virtual learning opportunities for themselves, as well as to have the opportunity to sign their classes up for guest speakers that will support the learning of the month.
Students can access Naviance for additional resources. Please use this link to learn how to login and navigate to the topics specific to their grade level and visit the district Financial Literacy webpage for more information.
Encourage students to be on the lookout beginning April 1st on their myPascoConnect dashboard with information on how to enter access a course through myLearning to build their understanding of financial literacy and be entered to win prizes! All stakeholders are encouraged to showcase the learning and tag #PascoFinancialLiteracy #PCSCelebratesFinancialLiteracy throughout the month.

Being Successful vs. Being Significant
Years ago, I spoke to some of our All Pro Dad Chapters team captains. I wanted to thank them for the time and effort they poured into their respective communities. The other thing I wanted them to know was how significant the work is that they were doing. We often get caught up in the success of a program versus the significance of it. This was something I talked about with my players when I was coaching. If all we did was win a Super Bowl, we'd be successful. But a hundred years from now, no one will remember or care who won the Super Bowl. So I challenged them to be significant in the community. In my last few years of coaching, I experienced the difference between success and significance firsthand. I tell that story. Check it out; you don't want to miss it. Here's what I told the team captains about success versus significance.
Huddle up with your kids and ask, “Who do you think is successful and why?”
