One of the county's most famous attractions is the Cow Calling Contest. There is great hunting and fishing grounds for deer and fish. It also has Red Deer Park for hiking, and has a museum in the court house. It includes exhibits about Native American, and Texan people fighting over the land

History
In the late 1800's, Roberts county was inhabited by Plains Apaches, and they thrived in the northern panhandle of Texas. Although they were eventually driven out of the panhandle by the Comanches, while in the area of the county, hunting the migrating herds of buffalo.
