How is it October already? With the recent rain, we have lots of wet kiddos after recess! Please send your child(ren) with rain gear. If you need gear, let us know and we can help your child get what they need.
For those of you with students in Kindergarten through third grade, we are implementing the Alaska Reads Act this year. To find out more information, please attend our AK Read Information Night this Thursday, October 5 in the library.

AK Reads Act Info Night
As part of the District Reading Intervention Program, beginning in the 2023-24 school year, each school is required to offer intensive reading intervention services to students in K-3 who show a reading deficiency. As part of the state requirements, K-3 students will be assessed with a literacy screener three times per year to determine areas of proficiency. Students who are identified as being below proficient will receive an Individual Reading Intervention Plan. Students who have a reading plan will receive additional reading instruction outside of core instruction time.
To learn more about AK Reads and how we are supporting our students, teachers, and families, attend the AK Reads Information Night this Thursday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m.
Assessment Update
To learn more, you are also welcome to join us at school on Thursday, October 5th at 5 p.m. to learn more about literacy instruction at our school and how we are implementing the new Alaska Reads legislation.
