Hero Happenings
May 2024 - Volume 7, Issue 10
From the Principal
Happy May! I want to take a moment to share some important updates and reminders with you regarding upcoming events and initiatives at Hoover.
End-of-Year Assessments: Please be aware that end-of-year assessments are scheduled to take place throughout May. These assessments are crucial for evaluating your child's progress and academic growth. We encourage you to ensure your child is well-rested, and laptops are fully charged as we prepare for these evaluations.
Spring PBIS Incentives: Our students are working hard to earn RISE cash. With their RISE cash they can purchase tickets for a chance to win amazing prizes. Our 2nd graders are also working to earn tickets to their end of year carnival. Please help remind your student to make great choices as we work to finish the year strong.
Teacher Appreciations: We will host We Love You Wednesdays every Wednesday during the month of May (May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29) as we celebrate and appreciate our amazing Hero team. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and parents alike to express gratitude to our dedicated educators for their commitment to our students' success. I encourage you to take part in appreciating our hardworking staff.
Upcoming Events: We kicked off our ABC countdown and hope all our Heroes will join in the fun. Below is the calendar for your information. End of Year celebrations are set for Friday, May 31, 2024. We will celebrate all of our students' growth and academic achievements with growth awards. Parents are invited to take part in the events. More information is shared below regarding grade level times.
Communication Channels: As always, please remember that open communication between home and school is key to ensuring the success of our students. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school administration.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education journey. Together, we can make the remainder of the school year a rewarding and successful experience for all.
Putting Kids First,
Dr. Rice

News from the Nurse's Office
PBIS
Hello Hoover Families,
It is hard to believe that summer break is right around the corner! The school year has truly flown by and we have had so much fun learning and growing this year!
Students and staff loved getting to celebrate our students by selecting a Hero of the Month for their classes. These students consistently showed Respect, Integrity, Safety and Effort daily. Last month, we had the opportunity to recognize all of the Heroes of the Month from this semester in a schoolwide incentive at our House Team Meeting. These Heroes had the chance to Race their Teachers! It was such a fun event and a great way to acknowledge these student's hard work! Way to go Hoover Heroes!
This month, we are so excited for our End of the Year PBIS Raffle! Students have been saving up their RISE cash and buying Raffle tickets! There are so many fun prizes, we cannot wait to see who wins a prize at the end of the month!
We hope you have had a marvelous school year with us! We wish you a safe and fun summer break and look forward to seeing you next year!!
