Post Cards For Remembrance Day
A team of faculty members and students got together to send postcards for Remembrance Day out to the community. Our community members were so very grateful and we even heard back from a couple saying the following:
" ... pass on gratitude for recognizing the importance and significance of remembering and for the words of support on the postcards. Well done!"
Great job, Wolves!

any surplus funds will be distributed to local schools for their lunch programs.
Persons who are eligible to receive hampers are contacted by Social Services.
Anyone who requires assistance should phone 939-3953 (Mid-Stream Thrift

Blanket Exercise For GSACRD Community - Arts and Heritage Foundation St. Albert
In 1996, Indigenous Elders worked with Canada’s Aboriginal Rights Coalition to write the original script for the Blanket Exercise. The program is an interactive way to learn more about Canadian history, particularly the First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives that have not been regularly taught or discussed. The script has been updated to include local history in partnership with Michif Cultural Connections.

SAFE AND CARING SCHOOLS
GSACRD Voice
You might have heard the term “Movember” used every November, and you might associate it with men growing out their mustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Did you know that we also advocate for all types of health for men in November, including mental health? Globally, on average, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, and in Canada, 75% of suicide victims are men. Men sometimes aren’t comfortable reaching out and opening up about life’s challenges – or they think they’ll be burdening their friends if they do. The first step in looking our for them is reaching out. Check out the graphic below for using the ALEC model to support the men in your life, or visit Movember.com to learn more information, campaigns, and resources around men's health.
Counseling Corner
We'd like to take the time to mention that we offer a range of counselling services at MCHS. Whether it be for academic or personal reasons, students can get help. See the contact information below for details.
