The Crossing
September 2019
An Official Welcome Back to School
This year, our district theme is, "Ignite your passion and brighten the way . . . " It references the need for us, as educators, to combine our passion of teaching and learning, with the passions of our students - all in an effort to ignite the interests of all of our learners. Right from the first minutes, our BC/DE teachers have been working hard to meet this mission. They have worked to help our students acclimate to their new classroom setting and routines. In each classroom, students participated in activities that allowed them to share about themselves and their passions, get to know their classrooms and teachers and set goals for the school year. With a goal to helping everyone reach their hopes and dreams, each class has created a list of rules for their success. It is only the beginning and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year holds!
As you may have noticed, Brooks Crossing and Deans have gone digital! You will not receive paper copies of documents, so please rely on the many sources of information available to you. Remember to check the BC/DE online Friday Folder, which can be found on our website. You can also click here. It is updated every Friday, and contains current information regarding the happenings at BC/DE. Check out our Facebook page at Facebook.com/SBSDBC and please also follow us on Twitter! Our handle is @SBSDBC. You may even see your child!
I look forward to continuing to forge a strong partnership focused on the academic and social success of your child(ren). To get started for the 2019-2020 school year, please see information below, regarding our first PTO event - an ice cream social. I am also including information about joining the PTO. This is the organization that works tirelessly to provide programs and activities for our BC/DE school community.
