News from the LMC
Students in grades K-3 experienced a fun visit from picture book author, Ron Keres, on Tuesday! He told us about his home in Canada and his pet frog, which was the inspiration for several of his books, the first titled This Book Is Perfect. He reminded us that picture books can capture our imaginations and make us laugh together. If you are interested in ordering any of his books, please see the order form in your child's backpack and return it to school by Monday, April 29th. https://ronkeres.com/
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent is an interactive presentation geared toward incoming kindergarten and first grade parents and guardians to better prepare them for this new transition in their child's life. The purpose of this presentation is to share what to expect as your child enters school full time and how parents can support their child’s emotional development throughout the early school years. A panel discussion among Indian Prairie School District 204 staff members will round out the evening.
Please note: This presentation is open to any IPSD 204 parent/guardian of an incoming kindergarten and/or first grade student. The information presented will not address any individual elementary school's policies or procedures.
The presentation will be offered both in-person and virtual. The content presented will be the same at both sessions.

Birthday Book Club
Are you looking for a great way to celebrate your child’s birthday at school? Whether your child already had a birthday this school year, or it is coming up... Clow LMC has the answer! You can donate a book to Clow’s LMC to honor your student AND help build our library collection! Here are two ways to participate:
1. Go to Amazon.com. Use the following link to access our wish list:
https://a.co/3hgh2n9. You will find books to add to our library collection to purchase for the LMC. The book(s) will be sent directly to our school from Amazon. It's that easy!
2. Send an email to nicole_fader@ipsd.org letting me know your student is able to pick a new book from the birthday book cart in our library. I will generate a $15.00 fee in PushCoin. On or around the date of your child’s birthday, your student will be able to come to the LMC and select a book! (Summer birthdays will be celebrated at the end of the school year.)
With either choice, I will add your student’s picture inside the front cover of the book, commemorating the donation, and hang his/her picture on the wall of the LMC.
Thank you for considering this program! If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me @ nicole_fader@ipsd.org.
