Happy New Year!
We look forward to returning to face-to-face on January 4th, we will also maintain a virtual option for families that chose to remain virtual. I have attached a daily schedule for face-to-face and virtual below. This schedule will remain in place until the end of second semester on January 22nd.
Below are some key points I would like to highlight:
- Half days for students begin January 4
- We will follow the Blue/Gold calendar
- Face-to-face students attend classes from 7:30 - 10:46 a.m.
- Virtual students attend classes from 11:22 a.m. - 2:18 p.m.
- January 13
- This early release day will now be dismissed at 10:46 a.m.
- ALL students will connect virtually, following the Gold Day schedule
- The schedule has been updated on our website and in this email
- Full days begin January 25
- Students will either attend a full day of face-to-face or virtual classes.
We are working on completing the schedule for second semester. As we are building the schedule for second semester, we are working with teachers to accommodate the different “types” of schedules that exist. Enrollment in those classes and student choice of virtual/face-to-face will determine what classes will be able to be offered face-to-face and virtual. Counselors will be notifying students of potential schedule changes and options for students that will be affected.
Grading and Final Exams will again look different than they have in the past. Below is a communication about grading and final exams. Due to FHS being remote for the first semester of 2020-2021, we have decided to offer a Credit/No Credit option for students in their classes. After discussing with your student, please submit a form for EACH class you would like a credit/no credit option in. Please reference PowerSchool to see your student's classes. To earn credit students must have 60% and meet all course competencies (CTE Classes students must have 70% and meet all competencies). A Credit (CR) or No credit (NC) does not affect GPA. All SMART Hour grades will be Credit/No Credit. If you do not submit a form students will receive the grade they earned at the end of the semester. Responses can be submitted until January 15th at 12:00pm.
Again, I thank you for your patience as we work with our families to do what is best for our students. We are all in this together, and remember to be kind and be flexible during this unprecedented time.
With Fraser Pride,
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.
Fraser High School Principal
Breakfast and Lunch Distribution
- Breakfast will be handed out in the cafeteria ONLY. Students are required to eat their breakfast in the cafeteria, not the classroom. School begins at 7:30am, so breakfast will be available from 7:15am – 7:40am.
- Lunch will be distributed to students at the exit doors as they leave the building. The ½ day instruction schedule ends at 10:46am, so we will be at the doors from 10:40am – 11:00am.
- The locations that students will be exiting the building are the Klein doors, the Main Entrance and the bus doors/loop.
- We will still be preparing and distributing meals curbside for the families that have elected to participate in virtual learning.
- If we have extra breakfast bags from the morning, we will take those down when we hand out lunches and offer them to our students (in addition to lunch) for them to take home.
- All breakfast & lunch will be cold bagged meals and follow the district wide menu (the same menu that is being used for curbside).
