Thursday, October 31~Literary Character Day
Rancho Elementary will host a school-wide Literacy Character Day on Thursday, October 31st. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite literacy character. Students may choose any character from a book they enjoy following the guidelines in this letter. To support students’ feelings of safety and security, violent or frightening costumes are not allowed. No weapons, dangerous-looking items, and or masks will be permitted to accompany a costume. Here are some examples of acceptable costume choices, and some examples of unacceptable choices.

Please talk with your student about the Literacy Character he/she has chosen. Students should be able to tell others who their character is, what book it is from, and characteristics of his/her character (adventurous, fearful, messy, courageous, honest, funny, clever...).

Monday, November 4th – Friday, November 8th Let your Reading Rockstar shine at our Rock ‘n Read Book Fair RANCHO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – ROOM 10
Each class will attend the Book Fair during their scheduled library time throughout the week. The Book Fair will also be open during the S.T.E.A.M Family Night on Wednesday, November 6th from 5-6pm, and Friday, November 8th from 8:30-9:30am.
Before and after school, students may not enter the Book Fair without an adult.

Rancho Elementary School PTA invites all service family member(s) (Retired, Veterans, Reservist, Active Duty, and currently Deployed) and First Responders to be honored and recognized on this special day. Please join us as we celebrate those who selflessly give of themselves to protect us through their service, strength, and sacrifice.

“Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead” Steampunk Family S.T.E.A.M. Night
Wed. Nov. 6th @5-7pm Join us for a Steampunk themed Family STEAM Night. The night will be filled with STEAM “geared” Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math activities, special guests, food, fun, and family. Dressing up in Steampunk fashion is welcome! Please no masks and no student drop-offs.
