Welcome Back!
Welcome back to school from the 2019 snow-cation! We hope you enjoyed a few extra days of rest and relaxation. Ask yourself these questions as we head into the middle of the third quarter...
- Have you signed up for Student-Led Conferences?
- Are you ready for winter MAP testing and spring NSCAS (state testing)?
Also, please remember...
- Students should wear lanyards every day.
- Agendas and computers should be with students at all times.
- Following the Buffett High Five is the key to success!
Be SAFE, Be KIND, Be HARDWORKING, Be TRUSTWORTHY, and Be your BEST!

Help Prevent the Spread of Norovirus and Influenza
There has been an influx of positive influenza cases and students with gastroenteritis (stomach flu) with our students. Here are some resources to remind families and students what they can do to prevent the spread of illnesses:

Winter MAP
MAP testing started in Math classes this week. The NWEA MAP assessment is designed to show growth over time. The assessments students take this winter compared to how they scored when they took the assessments in the fall are a significant indicator of growth. The data is used to help place students in courses for next school year.
Assessments will take place for ELA on the following dates:
- Jan. 21-25-ELA
It is important for students to:
- take the assessments seriously and always do their best.
- get plenty of rest and good nutrition.
- maintain regular attendance and arrive to school on time.
- avoid appointments that require missing a tested block.

High School Open Houses
We encourage 8th graders to attend the Open Houses during the month of January. Selection forms will be distributed in late January. Questions concerning this process can be directed to the Student Placement Office 531-299-0302.
Attendance Incentive from Mr. CK - 20 Bobcat Bucks!
Mr. CK wants students to be in classes each and every block of each and every day. So, he is going to give 16 students 20 Bobcat Bucks in a perfect attendance raffle every week.
How do students win?
- Have perfect attendance for ONE WEEK (zero tardies AND zero absences)
- Have your name randomly drawn from the list of students who had perfect attendance for ONE WEEK.
Don't forget...Sixteen students will be randomly selected each week. And, you get a fresh start every single week. All you need is FIVE DAYS without tardies or absences.
Attendance matters at Buffett.
