Message from the Principals
As April vacation approaches we are reflecting upon the short amount of time we have left this year. Many activities and events are still to come including ELA MCAS for grades 3 and 4 next week.
Our iReady Challenge was a big success. As a school we logged over 41,000 minutes for Reading and over 38,000 minutes for Math. Students and staff put their hearts into it! Grade 3 was the winner for total minutes!
Our upcoming Multicultural Festival tomorrow (April 6th 1-3pm) is a beloved annual event at South Row celebrating the many cultures our student come from. Please consider stopping by to enjoy the presentations and performances.
Just a reminder from our PTO that the collection of donations for the themed baskets raffle is presently underway. All classrooms are now accepting donations through Friday, April 26th. More information about this fundraiser may be found in the PTO Corner below. If you would like to be reminded of your student's class theme, please contact the main office to inquire. As always, thank you for your generosity and support of this popular, yearly school fundraiser.
Lastly, CLICK HERE to enjoy the March video featuring lots of learning and fun!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Reminders & Updates
Car Loop Reminder: We wanted to take a moment to remind all families on our arrival and dismissal protocols within the car loop. All families/community members should enter the car loop on Mill Road and take left out of the parking lot towards Boston Road (click here for a visual) unless directed differently by staff. These procedures have been determined by our school based incident management team in collaboration with the Chelmsford Police Department. We have been noticing that cars are sometimes exiting out of the loop and taking a right towards Mill Rd at the beginning and in the middle of the arrival and dismissal process. Most recently, we have had a couple of close calls that almost resulted in accidents. For the safety of all members of our community, it is essential that all members of the community adhere to these traffic patterns for the safety of all members of our community. You will notice cones out which will remain out blocking cars from taking a right out of the loop until the last car round of the arrival and dismissal process. Thank you for your support in adhering to the arrival/dismissal process.
Looking ahead:
- "Instrument Test Drive": Rising Grade 5 Students "Instrument Test Drive" is 9:00am-11:15am, Performing Arts Center at Chelmsford High School. South Row rising Grade 5 students suggested to come is 10:00am.
- Grade 4 teachers are looking for donations of clear, colorless empty 2 liter bottles for an upcoming project. If you have any empty bottles you can donate, please drop them off at the main office anytime within the next week or two. Thank you.

Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the snow!
As many of you may have heard, the CDC changed their Covid quarantine and isolation guidelines. Here is the updated CPS COVID Health Protocols
We are still seeing a sprinkle here and there of GI illnesses and Strep remains our most common illness across the grades. Strep can present with vomiting and abdominal pain for some individuals, especially young children. If your student has persistent stomach pain or vomiting, give their pediatrician's office a call.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Warmly,
Nurse V.

PTO Corner
We have only 2 more PTO meetings for the rest of the school year! You'll want to make sure you can join us because both meetings will have things to vote on. The April meeting will be on Monday (the 8th) at 7pm in the South Row cafeteria. We'll vote on another budget update and hear the ballot for next year's PTO executive board. The May meeting is where we'll vote in the new board. Go to SouthRowPTO.com to see the entire agenda for the next meeting.
We're in the middle of our Meadow Farms Fundraiser! You can purchase great items to use at your own home or give as gifts! They arrive quickly so will be here in time for Mother's Day if you see something mom would like. As always, our fundraisers help us provide school day enrichments, spoil the staff, and bring other events to South Row. Catalogs, order forms, and information for creating an online shopping link to share with out of town family and friends went home last week. Let us know if you missed them and need information. Thanks so much!

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon Planning: Every year during Teacher Appreciation Week, the PTO holds a themed lunch for all of our amazing teachers, staff, bus drivers, and district administration. We take over the gym and go all out decorating to the theme, and provide a big lunch and goodies to take with them. Because South Row is such a magical place, this year's Teacher Appreciation Lunch will be Harry Potter themed!
Please use the following link to volunteer to bring food or help out with setup on May 2nd or the lunch itself on May 3rd.

** Note: there was a typo in last week's link, so if you tried to sign up and couldn't, please try again! **
If you would like to contribute to the decorations, or candy/tea bars, please visit our Amazon wishlist.

Our house elves are hard at work planning the lunch. The earlier you can sign up or purchase from our wishlist, the easier it is for us to plan for what is still needed. Thanks in advance for quick responses.
