CTE In Action!
The Region 14 ATC has the exciting opportunity to be renovated in the upcoming fiscal year 26-27 biennium. You will be hearing much more about this in the coming months, but the short story is that the state budget will fund renovation of our center at the rate of 75 cents for each dollar spent, which is extraordinary! The Palmer Center cited in the article recently underwent renovation.
Also in the article is important information about House Bill 1661, "allows career and technical education programs to incorporate “required course competencies” for students, a change that could allow CTE programs to include English, math and science courses. Those courses could allow students to complete additional credits in those subjects and could take the place of some of those classes."
If you have any questions or comments about the article, I'd be happy to discuss them with you!

Running Start: Earn College and High School Credit at the Same Time!
All students in NH are eligible for two free RS classes per school year, thanks to the Governor's STEM/CTE scholarship. In addition, students residing in the ConVal school district can take additional classes for free, as supported by the school board. Students from other school districts will only incur a fee if they take more than two classes.
Sign-ups for RS begin September 19 through the Dual Enroll website. Please see the following attachments for additional information.
Volunteers Needed! Become a Member of a Program Advisory Committee!
Part of what makes CTE unique is the role our community and local industry take in helping students be career and college ready. All CTE program are guided by a Program Advisory Committee (PAC), which is made up of people working in the industry, college representatives, and student alumni. In order to stay current, our instructors depend on the input of these groups so that our students are prepared with the skills they will need to become a part of the workforce.
Are you employed in one of our CTE program areas and willing to offer input? If yes, please contact the instructor to find out about the PAC. PACs typically meet only twice a year, so your time commitment is limited.
