Who is at risk to develop breast cancer?
The two most significant factors are being female and increasing age. The development of breast cancer may be influenced by factors that affect the levels of hormones that circulate in your body throughout your life. These factors include the age when you started your menstrual period, the number of times you've been pregnant, the age at your first pregnancy, if you breast fed your children, and your level of physical activity.
How is it typically treated?
Treatments include, surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, and bone-directed therapy.
What is the survival rate?
Stage 1: 100%
Stage 2: 93%
Stage 3: 72%
Stage 4: 22%
