- Ketamine is classified as a dissociative anesthetic (hallucinogen that shrouds pain)
- Street names: Kit Kat, Cat Valium, Super acid, Special K, etc...
- Ketamine was synthesized as a replacement to PCP in medical and veterinary environments
- When synthesized, appears as a clear liquid but has been condensed to form a white powder
- Ketamine is ingested by either snorting or or placing it in ones drink as it is tasteless and odorless, making it a date rape drug. In medical concerns, it is injected.

Medical Use
- Used mainly as an anesthetic in humans and animals when they are going into surgery. Its prevents the pain
- Note: Ketamine reacts extremely harshly with other drugs or medical complications such as high blood pressure or alcoholism, usage of it with these conditions could result in dysfunction or death
- Within medical parameters, ketamine has also been known to help treat depression and bipolar disorder
Effects of Using Ketamine
- Short-term: hallucinogens, inability to feel pain, feeling sleepy, sluggish, or confused, and vivid dreams or nightmares. These effects tend to last about 2 hours but can vary depending on tolerance levels
- Long-term: Neurological damage to areas of the brain dealing with memory and vision (hippocampus and occipital lopes primarily), Ketamine bladder disorder (having the feeling of frequently needing to urinate when you do not), Increased cell death in the frontal lobe leading to potential movement impairment. These effects are mostly present in frequent users of ketamine but are all irreversible once obtained
